Background

I have worked as a freelance photographic artist for over fifteen years. Alongside my personal practice I am also a lecturer in Photography at Arts University Plymouth.

My photographic work varies in its approach, but primarily I have an interest in culture and people, which I believe comes from growing up in Ireland. Culture and identity is strongly instilled in Irish people from an early age, and in me that has resulted in a fascination with people, and how they live their lives.

I feel that the medium of photography is ever changing and I try to avoid labelling my work into a specific genre. As my life progresses so do my interests,  and as a result the type of images I create changes. One of the beauties of the camera is the fact it can alter your viewpoint and approach at any given moment.
